MaxMSP is my software of choice for composing as well for sound and video installations.

rs.textbutton

The “original” textbutton object from the Max4 epoch ;-)

Most of its the features have been adopted in the stock Max5 textbutton object.
But there is still that old fashioned 3D look and of course the radiobutton behavior which is achieved through linking several rs.textbutton objects.
Think of it as something between the textbutton object and the tab object.
